It was sometime in the summer of 2011 Sam and I found ourselves sitting outside in the glorious sun at our favourite boutique like cafe “Cake” near the front of Swansea bay when we decided what a stupendously brilliant idea it would be to embark on a charity round the world motorcycle trip.  Chinwagging away over nice cup of tea and a freshly toasted tea cake, a game of cards going whilst people watching… we contemplated the journey, skimming briefly over the who, how, what, when and way. We were excited!

Despite Sam having already completed a half way round the world motorbike trip, we had me to consider this time as a complete novice to the two wheeled wonder of a motorcycle… tight time scales… monies and setting up both our current working positions and homes to leave behind. It was a great idea… but we were merely scratching the surface of how to organise!

The preparation began, I broke the news to my folks nervous about their response as I knew of their concerns with motorcycle safety, but as usual they were instantly supportive and ready to help us out where we could!

Over the next few months (what seemed like a blink of an eye) Sam and I made various calls to find out how to go about planning such an adventure and found ourselves in London meeting withbike safety campaigns, PR companies and various production crews all eager about our plans!

It’s now 6months down the line from that deciding moment in the Sun and we have only 6months left to go. The amount of advice, support and encouragement we have received to date has been phenomenal – from family, friends, campaigns and the biking community. We are so superbly lucky to have some brilliant advisors as well as some tremendous sponsors… without these people the sparkle in our eye that day would have remained a dream.We are incredibly grateful and extremely happy to have such coverage for our charities too!
